Sunset over Matterhorn

Sunset over Matterhorn

About a week ago we took a spontaneous trip to Zermatt, Switzerland to ride the old Gornergratbahn cog-wheel train and see the Matterhorn. This was also the perfect opportunity for me to try out my new camera, the 5D Mark II, and my new 16-35mm f/2.8L lens. I also borrowed a 24-105 f/4.0L from our lab for extra measure. This is the first post with my new camera setup, with hopefully many more to come. For those interested, I did a small comparison between my old digital Rebel Xti and my new 5DII on my regular blog.

This shot was taken at sunset at Gornergrat, the topmost stop of the Gornergratbahn. Somehow it makes me think of the Paramount Pictures logo -- I'm just waiting for the stars to start flying by :-) The final image was merged from two exposures into an HDR image and tone-mapped.
