Fin Canyon

Fin Canyon

View of Fin Canyon, so call due to the long thin protruding "Fins" of sandstone that populate the canyon. These were formed as the ground slowly rose, causing the solid sandstone above to fracture and separate into long, parallel vertical sheets. Taken from the primitive trail in the Devil's Garden area of Arches National Park.
